Addiction in Little Rock & Pulaski County

Substance use disorder is a serious and growing public health challenge throughout Arkansas.

According to provisional data from the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), there were 389 drug overdose deaths in the state in 2024. The CDC reports that approximately 806,000 Americans died from an opioid overdose between 1999 and 2023. In response, the Arkansas Department of Health established its Substance Misuse Education and Prevention Section in 2017 specifically to address the growing opioid epidemic and broader substance misuse challenges across the state.

The scope of the problem extends well beyond overdose deaths. According to SAMHSA’s 2022–2023 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 16.39% of Arkansans aged 12 and older reported illicit drug use in the past month, with adults aged 18–25 showing the highest rate at 24.83%. Alcohol use remains the most prevalent concern, with 42.43% of Arkansans 12 and older reporting past-month use and 19.41% reporting binge drinking.

Our facility is fully licensed by the State of Arkansas Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health and accredited to deliver the highest standards of care. We are also verified by LegitScript, an independent certification organization that verifies the legitimacy of addiction treatment providers. At Time Wellness, we believe that addiction is a complex, treatable disease.

Our entire approach is built on three core pillars:

  1. Clinical Excellence — Evidence-based therapies and 24/7 medical supervision.
  2. Individualized Care — Treatment plans built around your unique history, needs, and goals.
  3. Whole-Person Healing — Addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions of recovery.

We maintain a small client-to-staff ratio so that every person in our care receives focused, personalized attention. You are never just a number here.

Our Programs for Little Rock Residents

We offer a full continuum of drug and alcohol rehab programs for individuals at every stage of their recovery journey. Whether you’re seeking detox, residential treatment, or specialized therapy, we have a program designed for you.

Medical Detox

Medical detox is the critical first step in recovery. Attempting to detox alone can be dangerous (and even life-threatening) depending on the substance involved.

At Time Wellness, our clinical team provides:

  • 24/7 medical monitoring and supervision
  • FDA-approved medications to ease withdrawal symptoms
  • Substance-specific withdrawal management protocols
  • Compassionate, consistently available support

We offer medically supervised detox for alcohol, as well as drug detox for substances like opioids, fentanyl, heroin, benzodiazepines, methamphetamine, cocaine, prescription drugs, and more.

Residential Rehab

After completing detox, residential treatment allows you to continue your recovery in a structured, therapeutic environment. You’ll live on-site and participate in a full schedule of individual therapy, group sessions, and life skills development. This level of care removes you from the stressors and triggers of daily life so you can focus entirely on getting well.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Many people struggling with addiction also live with co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. Our dual diagnosis program treats both the addiction and the underlying mental health condition simultaneously. Treating only one without the other often leads to relapse. We treat the whole person.

Aftercare Planning

Recovery doesn’t end when you leave our facility. Before you complete your program, we’ll work with you to develop a personalized aftercare plan that may include:

  • Outpatient treatment referrals
  • Peer support and 12-step connections
  • Ongoing mental health support
  • Community resources in the Little Rock area

Therapies & Treatment Approaches

Effective addiction treatment goes beyond managing withdrawal. At Time Wellness, we use a comprehensive range of evidence-based therapies to address the underlying causes of addiction and give you lasting tools for recovery.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is one of the most widely used and effective therapies in addiction treatment. It helps you identify negative thought patterns that contribute to substance use and replace them with healthier ways of thinking and responding.
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): DBT is particularly effective for individuals who struggle with emotional regulation, impulsivity, and relationship difficulties. It teaches practical skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • EMDR Therapy: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based approach for processing trauma. Since trauma and addiction are deeply interconnected, EMDR helps clients safely work through past experiences that may be fueling substance use.
  • Trauma Therapy: Our trauma-informed therapists create a safe, structured space for clients to process painful experiences without being retraumatized. Understanding and healing trauma is often central to breaking the cycle of addiction.
  • Holistic Therapy: We treat the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. Holistic therapies such as breathwork, yoga, and wellness practices help restore balance, reduce stress, and support nervous system regulation during and after detox.
  • Family Therapy: Addiction affects the entire family system. Our family therapy program helps repair relationships, improve communication, and educate loved ones about the nature of addiction and recovery.
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): MAT uses FDA-approved medications (such as naltrexone and Vivitrol) alongside therapy to reduce cravings, minimize withdrawal symptoms, and lower the risk of relapse. MAT is especially effective in the treatment of opioid and alcohol use disorders.
